LEDGE BLANC

LEDGE BLANC is a white wine blend produced by a collective of winegrowers working together to elevate ourselves, our wines, and our AVA through a recognizable regional wine. Each bottle of LEDGE BLANC is composed of 100% Wisconsin Ledge AVA grown wine grapes. Each year, individual producers will make their own vintage according to our pre-agreed standards and come together to test and approve them for the LEDGE BLANC label, ensuring you get the best and truest expression of our region across years and producers.

Wisconsin ledge ava

The Wisconsin Ledge AVA (American Viticultural Area) covers most of the NE coastal region of Wisconsin following the Niagra Escarpment. It is marked by it’s cooler growing season and the moderating weather effects of Lake Michigan. White wine grapes grown here are characterized by their crisp acidity and strong aromatics.

a taste of wisconsin’s fresh coast

LEDGE BLANC, made from grapes grown in this distinctive AVA, embodies the character of our local vineyards to create a truly unique experience. Our winemaking approach ensures that every vintage captures the essence of the Wisconsin Ledge AVA, with minimal intervention to let the fruit speak for itself.

This crisp, dry, aromatic white wine highlights the bright, clean flavors of our locally grown fruit, creating a refreshing and vibrant expression of our cool-climate vineyards. Typical to a LEDGE BLANC are aromas and flavors of delicate florals, vibrant fruits like green apple, lemon, pear, and guava, all balanced with a crisp acidity and lingering finish.

The grapes used in Ledge Blanc are not only locally sourced but are also well-adapted to our growing conditions. They offer a higher natural resistance to pests and disease and thrive in Wisconsin’s tough conditions, making them more sustainable by requiring less attention and inputs in the vineyard. They were born to grow and thrive on The Ledge.

excellence in every glass

Only wines of the highest caliber are awarded the Ledge Blanc designation. Each year, a vintage is submitted and must meet qualitative standards and undergo a rigorous third-party review. Submissions are blind taste-tested by a selection of sommeliers and industry professionals who must award each wine with a score of 90/100 points or higher before it is allowed to bear the name LEDGE BLANC. This ensures a consistent standard of quality, allowing wine lovers to experience the very best of what the Wisconsin Ledge region has to offer.
